I had no idea you could get a V8 in these things. I drove my buddies 2005-ish Colorado with the 3.5L I5....never did anything for me but a 3LT would be pretty slick.

I didn’t know they existed until a buddy of mine bo ught one a few years back. Super cool trucks, I wish they would make a variant for the current model.

There used to be a frequent poster here who had a V8 Colorado or Canyon.

I believe that would be one smallbear, who has been absent ever since The Great Kinja Scare 2019

I sat in one as a teenager at an auto show. Unfortunately, they all had 4L60Es and were expensive.
(other exciting things at said show were a Solstice Coupe and the Scion TC s hark fin car from the commercials)

But zero posts in five months?

Not everyone has content to post all the time. Especially during the slow winter months. Some people like lurking.

If only in was a regular cab with a manual.

I test drove a 2wd Crew Cab V8 when we had our 04 Colorado.
It got us kicked out of the dealer........

Like the people who spammed restaurants with takeout orders a month ago, people should start buying sub-$10K vehicles with terrible gas mileage to help the oil industry.
I like that blue Colorado, though. It has a sunroof, unlike the new ones.

Yeah, these are pretty neat, availalbe ‘09-’12. When I was looking for another midsize to replace my high mile ‘01 Dakota QC V8, I looked at getting either another Dakota QC V8 (4x4, ‘00-’04 or ‘08-’11 facelift) or a Colo/Canyon 4x4 V8 Crewcab. Dakotas were noticeably cheaper, but anything V8 with 100k mi or less was expensive. The nice Canyon/Colorados were ~$18-20k, Dakotas $10-14k. Way too much to me for a 10 year old truck. Found a nicely discounted ZR2 instead.
All the older V8 midsize trucks are pretty fun IMO.

I remember seeing a new one sit a local dealer for over a year before someone bought it. I thought it was pretty cool to have a V8 Colorado, and this was during the last recession. I haven’t really thought about them much since then.

Yeah, I’m a sucker for a good sport truck. It doesn’t need to be a modern syclone but making it lower with better brake and suspension in the v6 would be fun
